New York City is NOT Washington I'm a transplanted New Yorker and I really do miss New York. And for an entirely different reason. But this is about Washington. Washington State has some of the best nature has to offer. From scenic vistas to large volcanoes under a blue sky, yea I know it's WA what blue sky. But if you like hiking, biking, and camping, Then the best destination is here in the Pacific Northwest. The wild hinterlands of Snoqualamie National Forest has everything and an outdoor enthusiast seeks. Trees, Trees, and more trees. From deciduous trees to the hallmark of our state. Evergreen Trees small, large, trees of every species can be found. However, there is on slight drawback to this gorgeous state we call home. ALL THE DAMN RAIN. If your prone to bouts of severe depression then Washington is the LAST STATE you want to live. On avg the sun shines on avg 80 to a 100 days but probably off on the number. All the rest of that time overcast sky, nasty wind storms, and the dreary dampness causes even natives to the state to hit the blue skids. Here's what some of us say. For example June of this year we referred to as 'Junetober' above avg rainfall and well below avg temps and same for Julyuary. And if your an avid skier then Washington has something for the skier, oh and snowboarder sorry guys back in the 80's snowboards weren't known. Winter sports from Downhill Skiing to Snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the back country. But BEWARE winter fun enthusiasts. Mother Nature gives us the best. But she also can give us the worst. WA has a huge number of Rivers that flood, and have flood catastrophically. This is usually caused by El Nino or the warming of north pacific waters by a current reversal. One year I remember El Nino wiped out an entire winter season for the Ski Industry. I miss NY cause its home and is Beautiful in its own right. But you won't find the wide open recreational spaces in the Big Apple.
